This is the best Bass I have ever owned. The maple body, mahogany block, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard create a very resonate instrument. The Casady is unique for it's single low-impedance JCB-1 humbucker, as well as traditional volume and tone knobs. Pearl fingerboard inlays and body binding set it apart from most production basses I have played.

Jack Casady worked with Gibson to create this long-scale, hollowbody electric bass constructed loosely around his vintage 1972 Gibson Les Paul Signature bass. Casady worked with a designer from Epiphone to develop a passive pickup and control section that delivers a very natural tone. The JCB-1pickup is a low-impedance model, which produces a sound unlike what you get from high impedance pickups and active electronics. 

The construction is a hybrid and not a true semi-hollow or hollow body. A mahogany center block adds sustain and reduces most feedback issues. This construction allows the top to resonate, giving it a more natural tone. The controls allows for a wide variety of variation. The bass has a transformer with a 3-way impedance selector which eliminates the need for active circuitry. The B450 bass combo with two 10" custom designed speakers is a solid value. It features 2 inputs - one for passive and one for active pickups as well as input gain and output volume control. The clip indicator alerts you when you are over driving the preamp, but it sound pretty good when you do.  The EQ is 6-band and it has a footswitch-controlled notch filter. The tuner send signal, coupled with the footwitchable mute function allows for silent tuning. The rear panel offers an external speaker output (down to a 2 ohm load). This will increase the total output to 600 watts (2 ohms). The direct out has a independent level control - which you can send pre- or post-EQ -allows for solid DI signal to a console for live or studio use. Its a great amp for the money. - Visit Acoustic
